Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB) and Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB) are two prominent regional rural banks that have instrumentally driven socio-economic progress in Assam and Mizoram, respectively. The study's main objectives are to compare the growth performance of AGVB with MRB's performance and assess its strengths and challenges. A sample of 5 years of data is considered from various secondary sources like annual reports of AGVB, MRB, and NABARD. The study's important parameters are branch network, employee strength, per-branch and employee productivity, CD ratio, and CRAR ratio, operating ratio etc. Various statistical tools such as average, percentage, Compound Annual Growth (CAGR), Coefficient of Variance, paired t- test have been used to estimate the parameters for the growth and performance of these RRBs. The findings show that the volume of business of AGVB is higher but cannot show satisfactory performance compared to MRB over the study period.
