Caregiving for individuals with psychosis poses unique psychological, emotional, and social challenges, significantly impacting caregivers' mental health. This study explores the effects of caregiving on mental well-being, emphasizing the high prevalence of stress, anxiety, depression, and caregiver burden. Factors such as the severity of the patient’s symptoms, lack of social support, and prolonged caregiving periods exacerbate these issues. Caregivers often experience role strain, social isolation, and a diminished quality of life, contributing to a cycle of declining mental health. Conversely, positive outcomes such as personal growth, resilience, and a sense of fulfillment are also noted in some cases, highlighting the complex nature of the caregiving experience. Effective interventions, including psychoeducation, peer support groups, and tailored mental health services, can alleviate caregiver burden and improve overall well-being. The paper underscores the importance of systemic support, such as accessible healthcare resources, and societal awareness to enhance caregivers’ coping mechanisms and quality of life. Future research should focus on culturally sensitive approaches to support caregivers across diverse populations.
