This study focuses on the role of university physical education (PE) in promoting the development of SE within the framework of inclusive education (IE). By reviewing and analyzing the current development status of university PE and SE in Western Guangdong, it identifies existing challenges such as the inadequate mechanism for cooperative construction, insufficient training of professionals in special physical education, and low social awareness and support. It proposes strategies including exploring and implementing the "integration of PE and SE (PE-SE Integration) "model, establishing and improving the cooperation and linkage mechanism, optimizing the training system for PE professionals (such as fostering a balanced psychological contract and a sense of career calling), and constructing a diversified and coordinated social support system. The aim is to promote the deep PE-SE Integration, create a conducive PE environment for students with disabilities, foster their holistic physical and mental health development, and effectively promote the high-quality development of SE. The study not only enriches the practical application of IE theory in the field of university PE but also offers feasible suggestions for the healthy development of SE.
