The main focus of Integral humanism philosophy of Deendayal Upadhyay is on the human being. The philosophical thoughts delivered by Deen Dayal Upadhyay are based on the core of the social, economic and political model of development. His philosophical thoughts demand to formulate an indigenous development model rather than borrowed developmental model from Western or Eastern nations. In this suggested indigenous model of development human beings should be the centre and the life of an individual considered in an integrated manner. Where, people set the aim of developing body, mind, intellect as well as soul in a balanced way. Human beings have attempted to satisfy the manifold desires of man, taking care that endeavors to please two different aspirations are not commonly conflicting. This is the integrated representation of all the fourfold ambitions of an individual. This notion of a complete human being, an integrated human being, is both an objective as well as our path. In a way, his thoughts can be said not just as a political one but as a conclusion of socio-economic and political perspectives with Bharathiya-Indianness to make a synthesis in human life with the society, state, and nation function as complementary to each other rather than being contradictory elements.
Main ideas of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay may be seen in his conceptualization of Bharatiyata, Dharma, Dharmarajya and Antodaya. Antyoday, although a word belonging to Gandhian lexicon, it is inbuilt in the ideas of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. His vision of ‘education for all’ and ‘har hath kokam, har khet ko pani’ was seen culminating in his idea of Economic Democracy. Explaining his idea of Economic Democracy, he says, “If a vote for everyone is the touch-stone of political democracy, work for everyone is a measure of economic democracy. Opposing the ideas of big industries-based development, centralization and monopoly, he advocated swadeshi and decentralization. He advocated a system free from social inequality where the capital and power get decentralized. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay message was to build a strong and prosperous Indian nation on the foundation of Indian culture which guarantees freedom, equality and justice to all (Dharmarajya), maximum good to all (Sarvodya and Antyodaya) and synthesis, not conflict, as the basis of life (Samanvaya).
