Decommissioning management of natural resources has become more challenging because of environmental pollution, climate change, and other issues to do with sustainable utilisation of resources. There is a rich history of Indigenous knowledge systems giving insights on how to effectively manage resources but little has been done in regards to incorporating this with contemporary technology. If both of these strategies are harmonised, then this gap empowers the management of resources as a means of improving overall strategies. Hence, the primary aim of this study was to explore some innovative approaches and techniques to sustainable natural resource management which emphasise integrating technologies and traditional knowledge. The study also aims to find out how this combination of innovative technological advancements and indigenous practices will help in improving the effectiveness of various strategies related to natural resource management. The study was based on the secondary data collection technique and a mixed method, including quantitative and qualitative research designs. The research work reviewed existing literature, case studies, and reports on the application of technology and traditional knowledge in various contexts. The anticipated result is to be able to explain how and when these two can be incorporated towards facilitating better description of how improved utilisation of resources that are less vulnerable would be fostered. The study anticipates identifying key benefits, challenges, and best practices associated with this integration. The conclusion pinpointed that it is possible to achieve modern goals through the integration of technology with time-honored practices in handling environmental issues and that any goal should, therefore, be addressed with a combination of modern practices and Indigenous knowledge. Based on this evidence, the following are the policy implications of this study for policymakers, resource managers, and communities. The study implies that there is a need to combine the systems in order to achieve better and culture-centred measures in natural resource management, hence sustainability and resistance.
