The article reviews the application of product-oriented approach (POA) in English speaking teaching from 2016-2024, and reveals the research hotspots and trends through Cite Space visualization analysis. It was found that the application of POA in English language teaching focuses on university, high school and higher vocational English teaching practices. The keyword co-occurrence and clustering analysis pointed out curriculum ideology, teaching practice, and blended teaching as the current research focus and hotspots. Based on the keyword emergence intensity mapping, future research trends can be predicted, including practical application, English teaching of college students, and comparison of multiple teaching modes.
