The primary focus of the study was to determine factors influencing prospective career choice among Senior High School students in Pru West District. The study design was a descriptive cross-sectional survey design. The population comprised all students in Senior High School in Pru West District. A sample of 264 was drawn from the 2,450 male and female students in Senior High School in Pru West District. Students were selected from form two and three. Structured questionnaire with closed ended questionnaires was used for data collection. Simple random sampling technique was used in selecting the students. Data was analyzed using frequency counts, simple percentages, means and standard deviation. The survey discovered that students actively consider their gender while choosing a career, indicating that they believe their gender influences their possibilities and objectives. Again, the study revealed that majority of students think their parents have a big influence on their professional decisions. The study concluded that influence of parents was strong in their selection of prospective career choice. It was recommended that special training and sanitization programme should be organized by Ghana Education Service for students in order to equip them with information that can help them to choose their desire career.
