Ageing is a natural continuously reversible changing process. In the stage progressive journalized impairment of function occur which result in loads of adaptive response to stress anxiety and depression. Unfortunately for the past 50 years the traditional Indian family system has been changed to nuclear family the role of providing safety security has been shared by the institution such as old age home the absence of family care surrounding gives you loneliness and depression. All the inhabitants of old age homes were suffering from one or more (Multiple) physical illness, no one reported herself as healthy. The present study aimed at assessing the emotional problems i.e depression, anxiety, stress and coping strategy in old age people in old age homes. The data was collected by using DASS-21 inventory, Kiran Rao checklist and socio demographic data. The findings reveals that the percentage of sample with extremely severe depression score is 1.1%, severe depression score is 6%, moderate depression score is 52%, and mild depression score is 21%, normal is 20%. The percentage of sample with extremely severe anxiety is 22%, severe anxiety is 25%, moderate anxiety is 93%, mild anxiety is 7% and normal anxiety is 37%. The percentage of sample with good coping strategies is 1%, average coping strategies is 67% and poor coping strategies is 32%.
